How to Explore Anal Sex
January 9, 2007
Why would you want to have anal sex? Well, besides the delicious thrill of breaking one of the oldest sexual taboos, anal sex feels good. Your anus and rectum are packed with sensitive nerves that love to be stimulated. However, most people need to approach anal sex gradually. Some people need to retrain their minds and bodies to accept anal sex, but that process can be an erotic experience in itself.
You can test this out with your finger. You may want to wear a latex glove for this. Using a water-based lubricant such as Astroglide or a silicon-based one such as Platinum Wet, begin to explore your anus. Use a great deal of lube because the rectum does not self lubricate. Trace the opening with the tip of your finger. You can feel the ripple of pleasure move through your body. If this excites you, slowly slip your finger inside. You should feel a very pleasant sensation in your rectal walls. Try to practice opening and clenching your rectum. Feel how firmly your rectum grasps your finger. This is what your partner will feel during anal penetration.
If anal play with your finger gets you hot, you may want to move on to anal toys. Some people prefer to start with something small like the Anal Adventurer. As with your finger, use lots of lubricant and start slowly. If you feel resistance, push as if emptying your bowels. This will open the inner sphincter to let the toy past. Try moving it in and out as if you were fucking yourself with it. In time you should start to feel relaxed and very aroused.
Butt plugs have a myriad of uses. You can even walk around with them inside if it’s a plug that fits well. This can help you stretch your anus to help accept penetration, but it can also drive you to some of the most intense orgasms of your life. You can use larger and larger butt plugs as well to increase your capacity for anal sex gradually.
Another fascinating anal toy is anal beads such as Acrylite Anal Beads. These can be inserted into the anus then pulled out in long, slow, tantalizing withdrawal, or yanked out quickly to send your over the edge is sheer ecstasy.
You may want to engage your partner in your anal play, particularly if you are gearing up for anal intercourse. This will familiarize him/her with your personal body parts and how you need them to be treated. Anal play an be an exquisite experience for either partner. Massaging a man’s prostate gland through his anus while giving him oral sex has been known to give them the best orgasms of their lives.
When you finally decide it’s time to try anal intercourse, again, take it very, very slowly. Use a condom. Sexually transmitted diseases and HIV are transmitted through the anus, sometimes even more easily than by vaginal intercourse, because of possible tears in the skin. Use what you think is a greatly excessive amount of lubricant. Be sure you have taken enough time for foreplay, including anal foreplay. Any sexual experience is better when you are fully aroused beforehand.
Find a position that is comfortable for both of you. Some prefer having the receiving partner below on hands and knees, but this can be awfully hard on the person on the bottom. Others have the recipient lie on his/ her back with legs spread and rolled back, but again this can be uncomfortable for some people. Spooning sometimes work well. One popular position, particularly for the first experience, is to have the recipient be on top and in charge of the rate and depth of penetration.
Both the penis and the anus should be very well lubed. The lube should be spread as far into the rectum as fingers can reach. Practice clenching and releasing the anus and rectum several times in preparation. Consciously relax, not just your anus, but your entire body. Be aware of your state of desire. If your excitement has lost its edge while you were looking for the right position, rev it up again with some stimulation to the nipples, clit, or penis.
Press the tip of the penis against the anus and let it rest there a moment. Allow the recipient to just feel it pressing. Let him/her be the one to push a little further. If you are the recipient, take in the penis bit by bit, stopping when you need to. When you reach the obstruction of the inner sphincter, push as if you needed to go to the bathroom while your partner pushes gently forward. If it hurts too much, stop. Rest a while. If you feel you can proceed, go on. If you do succeed, continue cautiously, gradually building up a rhythm. Try stroking the clit or penis of the person receiving to maximize her/his experience.
Don’t be discouraged if you don’t succeed the first time. Anal sex often takes several attempts to do it right. Do not, however, withdraw the penis from the anus and put it directly into the vagina in order to finish off. This could cause a bad bacterial infection in the vagina. Clean up and use a new condom.
Whether you eventually engage in anal intercourse or not, learning to make use of another erotic area of your body can do nothing but enhance your sex life.
