How to Keep Your Sex Toys Clean
January 9, 2007
Whether the toys are for your sole pleasure or being passed around at a weekly orgy or swingers party, cleanliness is vital for your safety and the overall care of your beloved toy.The materials used to make sex toys varies, with the most common being: jelly, plastic, latex, silicone (which can even be washed via a trip through the dishwasher!) and glass; all of which can be cleaned using a mild soap and warm water or one of the many types of sex toy cleaners available on the market. And while soap and water is the more cost effective and convenient way to clean your toy, the sex toy cleaners are not only made to cleanse but also help preserve the texture of your toy. There are several cleaners available, such as: Before and After Adult Toy Cleaner , Legend Toyz Cleaner and many more. Other materials being used more frequently are Cyberskin and Ultraskin which are popular for their super smooth and realistic feel. With that luxury also comes the need for some special attention in order to retain its suppleness. These products generally come with a supply of their own cleaner as well as Cyberskin Renew; a talc designed to help maintain their smoothness.
Many of the toys available are made to be waterproof (this will be displayed on the box), but for the ones that are not, a bit of caution should be used when washing the item. This should go without saying, but: make sure to unplug your toys from the AC power before washing!! Imagine explaining that to the fire department or paramedics! If you are opting for washing your toys in the sink the old fashioned way; run your toys under warm water, making sure to keep any from entering the battery hold/motor. Wash with a mild soap and rinse thoroughly and always look for any tears or damage.
These tips should help ensure that your toy is with you for a long time to cum.
And remember: if you’re sharing your toys with others, be sure to practice safer sex not only by keeping your toys clean and free of damage, but also by using condoms.
Happy play time!
